The Chicago Reel / The Green Fields of Glentown

about

The Chicago Reel was recorded by Willie Clancy in London in the 1950s and is now a popular session tune. The second tune was written by Tommy Peoples. Both of these are usually upbeat reels, but Gerry’s backing on this recording gives them a more wistful, nostalgic mood. We double-tracked my guitar (i.e. I recorded the tunes, then played along with the recording) for a fuller sound.
